The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is gathering feedback from drivers around Orlando, with a particular focus on assessing possibilities to relieve congestion on Interstate 4.  FDOT is inviting employees and members of the Sanford Chamber of Commerce to participate in the study. The study’s purpose is to better understand current trip patterns and traveler preferences, which can inform future transportation planning decisions.

Sanford, FL -- The Seminole Cultural Arts Council (SCAC) announces its 2nd Annual Golf Classic, presented by Wayne M. Densch Charities, Inc. to be held Monday, February 23, 2015 at The Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes, 1700 Alaqua Lakes Boulevard, Longwood, FL. $500 per foursome or $125 per single golfer includes lunch, dinner, beverage cart, raffle ticket, door prizes, interactive holes and silent auction. Registration at 10:30 am. Shotgun start at 12:00 noon. Proceeds benefit arts and culture programs and activities in Seminole County.

BlackRain Partners is thrilled to announce the 2015 season of The Leadership Incite Series. The first session is next Wednesday, January 21st, so register today!


Thank you for your past interest in BlackRain Partners professional development opportunities. If you did not have the opportunity to experience The Leadership Incite Series during our 2013 – 2014 season, you are in for a dynamic 12-month seminar series (one session per month) focusing on high-level business leadership skills in four key areas; strategic planning, leadership, business ethics, and revenue growth. Each session contains content that is relevant to today’s business environment and includes strategies and techniques for immediate implementation and results. 


If you did get to join us during our previous season, you will be excited to experience the new topics, additional content on last season’s topic, some of our fantastic speakers from the last season and some new amazing speakers.


This year we are thrilled to offer the Leadership Incite Series at NO Charge to attend, that is a grand total of FREE, however seating is limited, so advanced registration is required. Each session will also feature a local non-profit with the opportunity for attendees to donate to the featured organization. Our first non-profit is Shepard’s Hope Shepherd's Hope is a faith-based organization of volunteers that exists to provide access to health care for the uninsured. We will be collecting cases of bottled water or monetary donations ($10 suggested).

Insight Credit Union donates new toys to local Toys for Tots campaign

Bringing holiday cheer to less fortunate children in Central Florida


ORLANDO, FL (January 6, 2015) – Insight Credit Union raised $3,260 and donated hundreds of new toys to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s annual Toys for Tots Campaign.

Every year, Insight participates in the Toys for Tots Campaign in an effort to brighten the holidays for less fortunate families living in Central Florida. Insight invited members to drop off new, unwrapped toys at any of their 16 branches. In addition, Insight used the funds raised to purchase 49 bicycles and 211 new toys to add to the contribution.

“Insight is proud to support the Toys for Tots Campaign every year and give back to the communities we serve during the holidays,” said Donnie Adamczyk, ICU community outreach executive. “Every child deserves to experience the joy of Christmas.”

Seminole State College Fine Arts Gallery presents Exhibit Opening Reception

Michael Fowler

Jan. 15 - Feb. 12, 2015

The abstract oil paintings of Michael Fowler present the “harmonies of color and shape,” in an effort to present work which “…reaches beyond the verbal and gives form to the emotional.” 

Mr. Fowler received his MFA, in painting and drawing, at the University of Nebraska and he presently teaches at University of South Carolina Aiken.  The artist has participated in numerous invitational and juried exhibitions and his work is included in several corporate collections.

Opening:  Thurs, Jan. 15th 5 – 7 p.m. 
Exhibit runs until noon on Feb. 12th
