Insight Credit Union donates more than 3,000 school supplies for underprivileged students in Central Florida

Insight Credit Union, a full-service financial institution offering banking, loans, mortgages and investments to anyone who lives or works in Central Florida, recently held its annual Back to School Supply Drive, donating more than 3,000 school supplies for underprivileged students in Central Florida.

For the third consecutive year, members and employees donated pens, pencils, binders, calculators, backpacks, glue sticks and many other items. The proceeds benefited Heart of Florida United Way, United Way of Citrus County, Red for Ed Community School Supply Drive (Lake County Schools) and Howard Middle School.

In addition to collecting school supplies, Insight participated in the United Way of Citrus County’s Day of Action. The Insight Inspire volunteer team helped stuff 1,100 backpacks with school supplies for Citrus County elementary school students in need.

“Nearly one in every four children in Florida is living in poverty. Through our school supply drive, we aim to provide these children with the tools they need to succeed for the school year,” said George Davis, president and chief executive officer of Insight Credit Union. “We are deeply grateful to everyone who donated and supported this initiative to improve the well-being of our community.”

Founded in 1935, Insight Credit Union is a state-chartered credit union based in Orlando, Florida, with more than $550 million in total assets. Insight has 17 locations, over 185 employees, and serves more than 55,000 members in Orange, Seminole, Lake, Volusia, Citrus, Marion and Sumter Counties to name a few.
