CellTel Cellular, an authorized retailer for AT&T, is unique in many ways from other locations where you can purchase wireless service. Their location is easily accessed from all parts of Sanford, located across from the Sanford Police station on 8th St. and 17-92. The business is solely owned by Laura Howell, a Sanford resident for 23 years. She closed a second Casselberry location to focus full time on the Sanford store.
“I really want to get to know the business people in Sanford better, and concentrate on helping them grow and be more efficient using wireless products,” she says.
Laura is assisted in the store by her son Jesse, who worked in the store as a teenager. Now he has returned to CellTel from Albuquerque, NM, with a strong management and sales background. He is very knowledgeable about both products and AT&T services. Many people know Tiffany as well, who has worked for CellTel for 8 years.
“I think what really sets us apart from other stores is the excellent staff we have. We all try to make coming here an enjoyable experience. Everyone really enjoys their job, and we like seeing our customers leave with a new phone or product that they are excited about,” says Tiffany.
Some of the various ways they can assist their customers, is to activate and upgrade phones, and then show them how to use the latest features now available. For example, you can now get a real-time navigation system on your phone, send videos from phone to phone, and set up a whole host of parental controls to keep younger family members from using their phones excessively. Wireless internet is now at broadband speed which makes watching TV and listening to music on your phone easy and affordable. Also, wireless aircards let you take your laptop on the road and work anywhere your cell phone will work. CellTel also takes bill payments, and offers all the discounts that AT&T offers its corporate customers.
“We have seen a lot of changes in this business, from back in the days of huge, heavy “bag” phones, to the current hand-held data devices and internet phones. The one thing we don’t want to change is keeping quality one-on-one customer service, and seeing our customers come back time and time again. Customers come first here,” Laura states. |
