SANFORD, Fla. (Sept. 24, 2020) – Seminole State College of Florida has partnered with the Florida Department of Education for their Get There workforce education initiative. The initiative aims to bring awareness to Career and Technical Education (CTE) certificates as an alternative to the four-year university track. By connecting students with educational opportunities and career pathways in their communities, the initiative helps students earn their credentials faster and begin their career in an in-demand field sooner.
As a proud partner to the Florida Department of Education, Seminole State offers credentials through its Rapid Skills program that are part of the Get There initiative, including:
- Associate Project Management
- IT Client Specialist
- Network Security
- Accounting Specialist
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
“This is a critical time for many of us,” said Seminole State President Dr. Georgia L. Lorenz. “Seminole State has always been a champion of workforce education. Through these career and technical certificates, our students can make a change in their lives for the better and start seeing results sooner.”
As many Floridians reconsider their career and job opportunities, Seminole State and the Department of Education are committed to providing and supporting affordable education that can quickly set students on the path to success.
Chancellor for the Florida College System Kathy Hebda said, “Both our college system institutions and our technical colleges offer those programs that we have said are so very essential to economic upward mobility for families and individuals, and they’re so vital for the economies and the local regions in this state.”
